Sec. 3-1. Streetlighting. The Village maintains sixty-one (61) streetlights. Any streetlight observed dark, flickering, or burning during daylight shall be reported to Public Works within twenty-four (24) hours. Residents shall not report lights that are not on the Village list.
Sec. 3-4. Porch lights. Each occupied dwelling shall maintain one (1) working porch light. Porch lights shall be kept lit from dusk to dawn on advisory nights.
Sec. 5-2. Livestock. Livestock shall be penned from dusk to dawn on advisory nights. White or pale animals shall be penned under cover.
Sec. 5-7. Animals at night. The howling of dogs between midnight and 4:00 a.m. does not constitute a violation of the noise ordinance and shall not be reported as such.
Sec. 7-3. Solicitation. Door-to-door solicitation is prohibited between sunset and sunrise. Residents are under no obligation to open the door and are advised not to.
Sec. 8-1. Signage. Business signage shall display the family or trade name only. Full legal names shall not appear on signage visible from the street.
Sec. 9-2. Noise; bells. No amplified music within fifty (50) feet of the treeline after dark. The bells of St. Brendan the Navigator are exempt from this section, including unscheduled ringing.
Sec. 11-4. Fences. Iron fencing on lots adjoining the bayou shall be kept in repair at the owner's expense. The Village supplies iron nails at no charge at the Public Works window.
Sec. 13-1. Cemetery. The cemetery is closed from dusk to dawn. Above-ground interment only. No photography of open tombs. Whitewashing is the first of November.
